Why Mylee Builder Gel?

Our collection of Builder Gel polishes is second to none and a true favourite among our fabulous Mylee customers! Builder Gel is a thick gel used for short nail extensions and as an overlay over the natural nail to give extra strength and durability. Builder Gel is best applied with a brush and must be cured under a UV or LED lamp. We have also made sure that our formula is vegan-friendly, cruelty-free, and 100% safe and compliant with all UK and EU safety regulations.

We sell Builder Gel in a range of colours, including soft pink and clear, so you can choose the best shade to suit your nail art and designs. If you're looking for a Builder Gel that will give you salon-perfect nails at home, shop our Builder Gel collection now – you won't be disappointed!

Besides nail health maintenance and the strengthening benefits of our Builder Gel, another reason why it’s so loved by our customers is because of its versatile uses. Not only can you do short nail extensions with this product but it’s also the perfect way to fix your broken nail, to make your gel nail polish last longer, and so much more.

Use our Builder Gel as a top coat or base coat

You can use our clear Builder Gel on its own as a top coat for a glossy look that also makes your gel polish last longer. This oh-so-convenient product can also work as a durable base coat you apply before your regular gel polish. At Mylee, you’ll find a wonderful selection of Gel Nail Polishes in a great range of colours – from earthy and neutral tones to bright and bold colours.

Extend and shape your natural nails with Builder Gel

Extending and shaping your nails is another possibility, and this process is easy-peasy with our Builder Gel. After nail prep, just attach a Mylee Paper Nail Form, brush the Builder Gel over your entire natural nail, extending the tip to your desired length, and cure! Applying Builder Gel in thin layers and curing between each one gradually builds strength and thickness. If you choose to apply one thick layer instead, be cautious of heat spikes from the lamp when you float it over the nail.

Builder vs. Magic Extender Gel

If you’re just getting started with making your own gel manicures at home, it might be a little confusing to know the difference between nail gel types. But, fret not! Here, you have our little guide to tell the two apart, so you can add the right one to your shopping cart:

You can add strength to your nail, ensure a protective layer for your nails’ surface, and create extensions with both Builder Gel and Magic Extender Gel. Yet, the thicker, paste-like consistency of our Magic Extender Gel allows you to create much longer nail extensions using several methods, whereas our Builder Gel with its thinner formula can create short extensions up to 1 cm long – and only with the paper nail form method.

Another way to tell them apart is that our Builder Gel comes in a bottle with a brush applicator, whereas our Magic Extender Gel comes in a squeezable tube, which you roll onto the nail with the spatula part of the Mylee Nail Gel Dual-Ended Tool.

No matter what nail gel type you choose to make your extensions, we promise that you can achieve professional, salon-quality results – all within the comfort of your own home!

Can Builder Gel Be Used With Tips?

Yes, Builder Gel can be used with tips. Builder Gel is a very versatile product, so you can use it to create a variety of different nail looks. If you're using Builder Gel with tips, we recommend applying Builder Gel to the nail and tips, then apply the tip before curing under a UV or LED lamp to keep it in place.

Can Builder Gel Be Used As A Base Coat?

Absolutely! Builder Gel can be used as a base coat. Builder Gel is a great product to use as a base coat because it helps to strengthen and protect the nails. Additionally, Builder Gel provides a great foundation for your nail art designs.

If you're using Builder Gel as a base coat, we recommend applying a thin layer of clear Builder Gel to the nails and curing under a UV or LED lamp

Once the clear Builder Gel is cured, you can then apply your chosen colour polish or top coat. We do recommend using a base coat underneath all Mylee coloured Builder Gels.

Can Builder Gel Be Used As Top Coat?

Builder Gel can be used as a top coat. Using a clear Builder Gel is a great product to use as a top coat because it provides a high-shine, long-lasting finish.

Additionally, Builder Gel helps to protect your nails from chipping and peeling. You can use a dedicated top coat over your Builder Gel for a shiny finish.

We offer Builder Gel in peach, pink, white and clear so you can choose the best shade to suit your nails.

How Do You Remove Builder Gel?

1. Buff the surface of the nails with a nail file. This must be done firmly as the surface must be opened up to allow you to penetrate the UV lacquer, but be careful not to damage the nail.
2. You will need to file off the majority of Builder Gel before moving onto soaking.
3. Soak a cotton pad with Mylee Gel Remover and place onto the nail plate, securing with a foil wrap.
4. After 10 to 15 minutes, firmly pull pads off the nails, making sure you gently push away any loose product with a cuticle pusher or orange stick.
5. If there is product remaining on the nail, re-buff and re-wrap the nail.
6. Once the product is removed, apply cuticle oil and hand cream to hydrate your nails.

With both Builder Gel and poly gel - if you want to just infill, you don’t need to fully remove every time.
