Autumn has come around again, and look who's joined us: burgundy nails. It's never a surprise when she pops in fall, but this year, she's front and centre. And by gosh, do we have some beautiful burgundy nail ideas to share with you.

If your FYP's blown up with the burgundy chrome – or should we call it 'cherry chrome' – trend and you want more of this sweet, moody shade, then scroll down for some inspiration.

In This Guide

Burgundy Nail Ideas: Going Glitzy

Adding a little bit of dazzle is never a bad thing with autumn nail art (hello guys, firework night is fast approaching), and luckily, burgundy looks even more stunning when paired with some glitter.

Without further ado, here are our burgundy nail ideas for when you need to add that sparkle to your life.

Glitter Burgundy

This is the one we've been seeing all over our FYPs and Instas , and we are obsessed – even to the point where we're walking around with this nail design as we speak. Consider us influenced.

The crazy-talented Kate ( @follow_my_nail_journey ) created this beautiful look using the  shade Karen  from our  Corpcore Gel Polish Collection – the ultimate glitter burgundy for fall.

Getting the look is pretty simple, and you just need a few products.

Get the Look

Step 1) As always, prep your nails and apply a base coat (Mylee Base Coat Gel Polish will give you the perfect foundation for this colour).

Step 2) Glide Karen onto your nails.

Step 3) Then cure under the Mylee Pro LED Lamp for 60 seconds.

Step 4) Top it off with a layer of No Wipe Top Coat , cure, and you're done!

See, effortless.

Bejewelled Burgundy

As we said, burgundy looks even better when it's sparkled up to the nines, so this is the perfect opportunity to add those gems for when you're feeling a little extra.

The burgundy showcased in this look is  Mylee Diva Gel Polish  – a sweet but intense deep dark red.

Our Be Jewelled Nail Art Kit includes lots of silver gems, which are super easy to apply. The kit literally has everything you need.

To apply the gems, add a dot of  5 in-1 Builder Gel  to your nail with your  Dotting Tool  (which comes in the kit). Pick up the gem with the same dotting tool (just make sure you've wiped it clean) and place it over the Builder Gel.

Cure to secure, then go over it with one more layer of Builder Gel to encapsulate it.

Burgundy With a Festive Flair

It's never too soon for Christmas with Mylee, and this subtle festive look will look so cute in the months leading up to the big day.

All you have to do is create some stars using a brush tool and your favourite Mylee burgundy shade – will it be Diva , Dystopia , or Queen of Hearts ?

Use the steps above to apply the gems, and voila! A lovely little autumn/Christmassy look.

Burgundy Nail Ideas Using Nail Art Brushes

We've already mentioned burgundy nail art ideas using brushes, so we thought now would be the perfect time to give you more ideas and a short guide on how to use our Mylee Brushes to their full potential.

Nail Art Brushes: Flash Guide

Step #1 : Choose the right brush for the art you want to produce.

If you're aiming for some autumn leaves, consider an Oval Brush and an Angled Brush to achieve your desired look. But if you want something more dainty, like a bat or a witch's broomstick, consider one of our Ultra Fine Brushes.

Step #2 : Choose your burgundy colour depending on what nail art you want to create, and dip your brush of choice into the bottle.

Step #3 : When you've created your nail art (it's okay to get it wrong at first; a bit of trial and error never hurt anybody, and you can just wipe it off and try again), you must clean your brush.

To do so, put a few drops of Brush It Off Cleanser onto a Lint-Free Wipe and gently swirl your brush into it until clean.

Burgundy Borders

@myleebeautyofficial Fall tones, but all through the year 💅🍇 What’s a Mylee shade you wear all year no matter the weather? This super trendy look is ideal for adding a subtle hint of burgundy to compliment your autumn fits. Borders are huge at the moment , and we're living for it.

Your base should be something light, so our XOXO shade would be perfect for this look.

Then, pick your fave burgundy and swirl your border onto your nail with ease using one of our Ultra Fine Brushes (7 or 9 mm should be fine). Helpfully, this burgundy manicure isn't very technical.

This look cuts out the harshness of the rich burgundy colour, so if you're not yet ready to use the colour at length, this look is for you .

Wacky Burgundy French Tip

@myleebeautyofficial We’re pushing the envelope with our new Corpcore collection 🗓✏️📎 Simply elegant manis to perfectly suit your Boss B energy 💅 📹 - @nailsby.prachi using Chocolate Digestive, Circle Back, Karen, Suited & Booted #mylee #lovemylee #myleebeauty #nails #gelnails #autumnwinternails #autumnnails #winternails #awnails ♬ original sound - Myleebeauty

French tips are a trend that came and never left, so pairing the two most popular nail trends is a smart idea . Introducing burgundy French tip nails .

Use an Ultra Fine Brush to create the different lines on the French tip. In the video, burgundy is used next to a cooler colour , which we think is a nod to the chillier season and a great addition to dark burgundy nails.

For this colour, we recommend Circle Back .

If you want to add the dot in the middle of the unconventional French tip, just use our Dotting Too with the colour Suited and Booted . Stylish nails have never been easier.

Step 1) Prep your nails first as per, and use the  Mylee Base Coat . Remember to cure! You could leave the base coat here, or you could use something subtle on top, like XOXO or Tickled Pink – just remember to cure again!

Step 2) Grab your Ultra Fine Brush ( 5mm would be ideal) and dip it into your first bottle. The colours recommended for this look are Chocolate Digestive , Circle Back , and Karen .

Step 3) To apply the colours to your nails, use the Ultra Fine Brush to create the lines shown in the video above. A quick swish of the brush should do it.

Step 4) Before moving on to a new colour, be sure to flash cure under your Pro LED Lamp for 30 seconds, and wipe your brush clean with a Lint Free Wipe and a little bit of Brush It Off Cleanser. You don’t want mix-matched gels!

Step 5) Use our Dotting Tool to create the dot between the lines. We recommend the shade Suited & Booted .

Step 6) Cure your nails! Make sure your stunning artwork isn’t going anywhere.

Step 7) Now it’s time to seal the deal with our No Wipe Top Coat . Cure this for 60 seconds, and you’re done!

Simple Burgundy Nails

Simplicity is underrated, and we think many people miss out on the beauty of block colour . Below are two ideas we think you can use to vamp up (pun intended) your fall looks without all the fluff.

Burgundy Nails...That's It

Now that we're fully aware the deep mani is in, and the summer manis are out, let's embrace the cosy vibes and choose solid burgundy when you're at the Mylee checkout.

To achieve that burgundy red everyone is chasing, shop these Gel Polish colours:

Cherry Mocha Nails

@myleebeautyofficial Cherry Mocha tones 🍓🍒🍇 We’re still here for the viral #cherrynails trend 💅 Don’t have a Mylee cherry shade in your colour closet? Get creative 🎨 @justjodienails using Brown Sugar & Dystopia 💅 #Mylee #nails #gelnails #nailtrends #naillooks #cherrynails #darknails #nailhack #popularnails #trendingnails ♬ Jvliozzz Pink and White - Jvliozzz

Why not take the deep tones even further and try a cherry mocha colour for those days when you feel on the dark side? *devil emoji vibes*

Take notes from the TikTok, and if you haven't got a colour that matches the tone, mix two Mylee Gel Polishes together . TikTok recommends Brown Sugar and Dystopia , but you could also try Not In The Mud and Raspberry .

Get the Look

Step 1) We know you know - prep your nails & cure that base coat!

Step 2) Next, you want to start with your brown shade. Take Brown Sugar and glide it across your nails. Cure it under your Mylee LED Pro Lamp.

Step 3) Now that your brown nails are cured, it’s time to add Dystopia . Brush the shade over your nails and cure.

Step 4) Use the Mylee No-Wipe Top Coat and cure your nails and cure to finish. And you're good to go! Cherry mocha = beauties.

Summary: Are Burgundy Nails Here to Stay?

Nail trends seem to come and go each season, but if there's one trend that doesn't seem to ever fully leave us, it's burgundy nails .

There's something about the colour that people seem drawn to at this time of year, and clearly, for good reason.

Burgundy's versatility – its ability to be subtle yet stunning – will not change, which is why we think burgundy nails are here to stay.

What colour goes with burgundy for nails?

Colour theory suggests burgundy works well with other autumnal colours and warm tones, such as orange, gold, navy, and muddy brown. It's also paired nicely with lighter colours like baby pink and cream. Below are some of Mylees Gel Polish's that go with burgundy:

Why are burgundy nails popular?

Burgundy is always a dominant colour in AW seasons because it's a chic look that pairs with many outfits, especially those darker outfits that you tend to wear in the winter, making it highly versatile.

It's also a colour that compliments every skin tone well, making it a popular choice for many people.

What other autumn nail art can I create?

There are a few notable autumn holidays, such as Halloween and Bonfire Night, that you can use as a theme for nail art. If you're handy with a nail brush, like our 9mm Fine Brush , try using Flower Power to draw a pumpkin or Witching Hour to draw a spider. In November, try using multiple Mylee Gel Polishes to create the look of fireworks on a plain base.
