Red and Pink Christmas Nail Designs & Colours for 2023:
|
1. Tartan Pink and Silver Christmas Nails
Tartan nail art always reappears during the holiday season, and this year is no exception. But instead of a classic red tartan, our brand ambassador Jess (@tentinypaintings on Instagram) has gone for a stunning pink and silver twist!
Here, she's used our Kiss The Season Gel Polish for the shimmery hot pink nail colour and Once In A Blue Moon, Primrose Hill and Shake It Off to create the tartan design.
Step-by-Step for Tartan Pink and Silver Christmas Nails
Step 1) Prep your nails by pushing back your cuticles, shaping, buffing, cleansing and dehydrating the nail plate. (We've got a step-by-step for the perfect nail prep, so make sure you check it out).
Step 2) Apply a Base Coat and cure under a Pro LED Lamp for 30-60 seconds.
Step 3) Take your Kiss The Season Gel Polish and glide onto your nails. You can tidy your nails up by running a nail art brush around the edges of your nails before curing.
Step 4) Cure your base colour for 30-60 seconds before applying a second coat, then cure again.
Step 5) Dip a fine nail art brush in the silver glitter Shake It Off Gel Polish and create a cross-like pattern on your ring fingernail. Flash cure for 15 seconds.
Step 6) Clean off the brush (or use a new one) and dip it into Primrose Hill, creating a similar tartan design over the top of silver glitter polish. Flash cure again.
Step 7) Repeat this step using Once In A Blue Moon, remembering to flash cure.
Step 8) Apply a layer of No Wipe Top Coat to finish and cure for 30-60 seconds.
2. Pinky-Red Christmas Nail Colour
Can't decide between pink and red Christmas nails? You don't have to with this shade!
Our new-for-2023 shade, Solar Flare, is the perfect mixture of pink and red for the festive season. The fiery undertone of this gel polish will heat up your mani on even the coldest winter day.
It's bold enough to wear alone – like we've done here – but there's no reason why you can't incorporate it into more creative Christmas nail designs.
How to Perfectly Apply Our Pinky-Red Gel Polish
Step 1) Push back your cuticles using a cuticle pusher and use our Cuticle Nippers to trim any dead white skin.
Step 2) Shape your nails (if you wish) and use our Buffer Block to buff the top of your nails, creating a rough surface for the polish to grip to.
Step 3) Soak our Prep & Wipe solution on a lint-free wipe to cleanse your nails.
Step 4) Apply a layer of our Nail Prep Dehydrator to each of your nails and wait to air dry.
Step 5) Apply a base coat to each of your nails and cure under our LED lamp for 30-60 seconds.
Step 6) Take your Solar Flare Polish and paint it onto each nail. Cure for 30-60 seconds.
Step 7) Apply a second coat and cure again.
Step 8) Finish with a No Wipe Top Coat and cure for 30-60 seconds.
3. Chrome Rose Gold Christmas Nails
For those who prefer a more subtle Christmas nail look, this pink-nude and glitter combo is perfect.
We've used our 5-In-1 Builder Gel in Blush and topped it off with our Rose Gold Flake No Wipe Top Coat. The two come together to create a simply chic Christmas look that'll twinkle under the Christmas tree lights.
Recreate Our Rose Gold Christmas Nails
Step 1) After prepping your nails, apply a layer of Base Coat and cure for 30-60 seconds under our Pro LED Lamp. Note: a base coat is only needed when using a coloured Builder Gel.
Step 2) Apply a small amount of Builder Gel to your nails and spread it evenly. If you want to extend the length of your nail, apply nail paper forms before this.
Step 3) Cure under our Pro LED Lamp for 60 seconds.
Step 4) Apply a further 2 or 3 layers of Builder Gel to strengthen your extension and build up colour opacity, curing in between each layer for 60 seconds.
Step 5) Apply your Rose Gold Flake No Wipe Top Coat and cure for 30-60 seconds. You can reposition the glitter shards by using a wooden cuticle pusher or dotting tool to move them into place before curing.
4. Christmas Stars Nail Art
This year, it's all about combining traditional Christmas nail art with modern colours and twists, and this mani hits all the right notes.
Mylee brand ambassador and qualified nail tech @nails_byanniebey has incorporated the colours in our AW 2023 gel polish drop into this design, alongside a delicate pink base colour, and silver glitter stars, which add a touch of Christmas magic to the look.
How to Create Our Stars Christmas Nail Art
Step 1) Prep your nails and apply a base coat. Cure for 30-60 seconds under our LED Lamp.
Step 2) Use our XOXO Gel Polish and apply to your nails. Cure for 30-60 seconds.
Step 3) Use a nail art brush or our Stamp It Out silicone stamper to create the French tips.
If using a nail brush, dip into the gel polish and carefully paint onto the tips of your nails. If using a stamper, evenly apply gel polish to the cushion and push your nail into the stamper at a 45-degree angle.
Do this process using the gel polish shades Dystopia, Solar Flare, Mars Rock and Luna.
Step 4) Flash cure for 15 seconds.
Step 5) Use a fine nail art brush to create the silver glitter stars. Dip the brush into Silver Screen, and draw a star onto the nail, as shown in the image. Cure for 15 seconds.
Step 6) Use our Dotting Tool to place a small dot of polish in the centre of each star, using the same colour polish as you used for the French tips. Cure for 15 seconds.
Step 7) Apply a No Wipe Top Coat and cure for a final time for 30-60 seconds.
5. Pink Chrome Christmas Nails
We love a chrome manicure as much as the next person, and we're definitely on the Christmas theme with this look!
The rose gold chrome finish will reflect the fairy lights on your tree and add an extra touch of sparkle to your festive getup.
How to Do Pink Chrome Nails
Step 1) Prep your nails and apply a base coat to your nails. Cure for 30-60 seconds.
Step 2) Apply a black gel polish over the cured base coat – we recommend our Stalker Gel Polish for a true black shade. Cure for 30-60 seconds.
Step 3) Next, apply a No Wipe Top Coat over the black polish and cure.
Step 4) Using our Cushion Powder Pen in Rose Gold, buff the chrome pigment over the top coat in a circular motion.
Step 5) Apply another layer of No Wipe Top Coat and cure for a final time.
6. Classic Christmas Red Nails
We're finishing up our rundown of red and pink Christmas nail designs with a classic – bold, and beautiful red nails.
But don't just settle for any old shade of red. We've picked out our French Cancan Gel Polish for its crimson shade, reminiscent of the festive season.
To get the perfect polish application, follow the same steps we laid out in look 2.
