How To Use Cushion Powder Pen

How To Use:

1. Prep your nails as usual.

2. Apply the Mylee Base Coat and cure for 30-60 seconds using the Mylee Pro LED Lamp, or 120 seconds with the UV Lamp.

3. Pop on a coat of your favourite Mylee Gel Polish and cure. Repeat to build up the opacity if you like! We recommend using the Mylee Shade Stalker for a true chrome finish.

4. Apply a layer of the Mylee No Wipe Top Coat and cure.

5. Then, take the Cushion Powder Pen, dip the cushion into the lid, and rub over the whole nail in a circular motion, buffing the product into the Top Coat.

6. Once coated, apply a layer of Mylee No Wipe Coat straight onto the nail and cure.

7. Wash your hand, massage in some cuticle oil and enjoy your chrome mani!

Top Tips for Using Our Cushion Powder Pen

Our chrome pens are perfect for nail art! Use a Sanding Buffer Block to take the shine off your chosen gel polish colour, apply your nail art design with the No Wipe Top Coat and cure.

When you buff in the pigment, it will only stick to the No Wipe Top and create a stunning pattern! Be sure to use Top Coat again to seal in the powder and your design.

The chrome effect will vary depending on the gel polish colour you use underneath. For a true chrome colour to shine, we recommend using over our Witching Hour Gel Polish.

If you apply over a lighter or nude shade, you'll get a gorgeous iridescent finish!

The powder applies best to a nail that’s straight from the curing lamp, so you might want to work on 2-3 nails at a time.

To lock in your chrome colour and stop it from rubbing off over time, add Base Coat over the chrome, before your final No Wipe Top Coat to lock it in.

Yes – you should actually apply No Wipe Top Coat both before and after your powder pen. Apply your first top coat layer and cure under a Mylee lamp.

Then buff the cushion powder pen onto your nails, sealing with a second layer of No Wipe Top Coat once you’re finished and cure for a final time (30 to 60 seconds under the Mylee LED lamp or 120 seconds under a UV lamp).

Mylee Cushion Powder Pens will last on your nails for up to 3 weeks. Make sure you follow all our top tips and step-by-step instructions to achieve the best results.

If you’re having trouble with excess chrome coming off your nails when you’re buffing in the pigment, you may have applied too little powder, so take another dip into the lid and reapply.

If your chrome is coming off your finished mani, this could be because your Top Coat is rubbing off over time.

You must make sure to apply your chrome powder pen directly onto a cured Top Coat layer and seal it in with a second cured layer to ensure your chrome finish lasts. You can even apply a Base Coat layer before your final top coat for extra longevity.
